peace.
it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. it means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Feature: Lighten up
It's that time of the year, new beginnings, fresh starts, shedding layers and getting lighter. As you consider sculpting that body for warm weather activities, don't overlook the opportunity to lighten your spirit as well.
No, I'm not talking about fueling with nutritious foods (I'll save that for another article). What I'm talking about is feeling lighter, more confident, and more certain in the moment.
Consider the definition of light. Webster's New World Dictionary states light can be used as a noun or an adjective and has many meanings. Which one fits your personal definition best?
Light - a form of radiant energy, illumination, having little weight, not heavy, easy to bear, not difficult, easy, entertaining, radiance, glow, spiritual inspiration
My clients often share their desire to feel more peaceful and sure of themselves. They want to be clear about the path they're on and the options they're considering. Our sessions frequently gravitate around lightness in one form or another.
Sometimes we're talking about shedding light on a situation. You know, kicking the door open to uncover what is actually there versus what you imagined is lurking in those dark corners. Shedding light provides the opportunity to see a different perspective, one that may feel closer to the truth for you.
Could you benefit from lightening up? Could you stand to feel lighter? Here are a few benefits my clients and I have experienced in choosing to approach life from that place of lightness.
Life is more fun! It's easier to find your big full belly laugh when you're not overanalyzing and agonizing over what comes next. You begin making the most alive choices for you.
You become more flexible and able to enjoy and live in the moment. You start to become more conscious about what is occurring around you and how you feel about it.
Your creative side is empowered to come out and play. The lighter your approach, the easier solutions come. Ben Franklin invented the lightning rod while flying a kite (okay, possibly not the safest example to use, but you get my drift).
You start trusting your decisions and yourself more with a lighter approach. It's easier to hear your inner wisdom.
Okay, you say, these seem like great benefits, but how do I actually go about lightening up?
Here are some tips on getting started.
Being light is a conscious choice. One of the most powerful tools you have to change your life is your own thought. Be conscious about your thoughts, they will concrete into matter. What are your best and highest intentions? Start there.
Stop doing what you should; start doing what's right for you.
Stop being guided primarily by results; start doing what feels right now.
Have the courage to say what you're really thinking. Don't withhold your thoughts, feelings and needs; you might be pleasantly surprised by the reaction.
Develop rituals that serve you well.
People learn and become happy when they hang out with others who radiate happiness. Who are you hanging out with?
Work harder at impressing yourself instead of thinking about what other people think.
Be bold, take risks...when is the last time you wore polka dotted undergarments to that formal meeting?
Clear the clutter; make it a priority to have a reserve of time and space in your life so you will recognize lightness when you're in the midst of it.
Can you think of at least 3 things you could do right now to lighten up? Choose one, give it a test drive, pay attention.
